Superimposed Preeclampsia Emergency C-Section Dad Help

Nothing will ever prepare you for something like this. If you're wife is pregnant I have suggestions for the Dads. This is unpredictable.

1. Prepare a hospital bag in both of your cars for her and him. Get generic basic cheap clothing and cheap bath supplies. If it does happen you will have no time to prepare, these quick generic hospital bags will help you through the first few days.

2. Moms check your blood pressure, if you see a hike in your BP that is out of the ordinary, call your doctor or get to a hospital. Dont try to play it off as a salty meal, you and your baby are at risk.

3. Dads you need to support. I know it seems obvious but this is devastating to the Mom. You need to take control and take it fast. Contact everyone of her friends and family and tell them to contact you for updates. Allow her to rest and not stress or worry about work or social media drama. Get her insurance card, ID and SS# ready because you're going to need it.

4. Dads keep track of medication given to your wife and times. Ask questions. The nurses and doctors want you to advocate for your wife. While in the hospital they weren't sure how much medication they gave my wife, I was able to pull out my phone and tell them. Things were so hectic and crazy some information might not have been delivered.

5. Dads it is very scary, try to reassure her that she is where she needs to be for her and the baby, that this is the best decision. The information is overwhelming and you feel helpless. This is the time to ask the doctors "why are we taking these steps towards a c section". He will give you that information. Advocate. Let her know this is not her fault and make sure she hears the nurses and doctors reiterate that fact.

6. I brought this card game to help pass the time. Our Moments . It keeps her engaged and present.

7. Dads get a routine, if you're in the hospital with her, do something to take care of yourself. Walk to the cafeteria, sit down and update everyone. Before you reenter your wife's room, talk with the nurses and see what the plan is for the day. Let the nurses know that she needs to hear that shes doing good and shes strong. Ask them to come in and just reassure her that she'll get through this.

8. Dads ask for a folder to be able to hold all the paperwork you'll receive. Every doctor or specialist that comes in ask for a business card or write their name down and what the specialize in.

9. Dads rub her feet and legs, if there is fluid build up, your rubbing will help move it in to the system.

10. Dads and Moms try to find some sort of positive aspect and hold on to it. Try to find humor and laugh. My wife and I kept saying "Well at least this is better than our Gettysburg trip".  Just the ridiculousness of the situation allowed us to break away for a small period of time.

11.  Dads use friends and family any chance you can. If its bringing you extra clothes to the hospital or checking on your house or feeding your animals. USE the resources you have so the stress is less.

12. Dads dont carry the burden on your own. Reach out to close friends and family to be able to vent about everything and anything going on. Your wife needs a rock by the bedside, make sure you can provide it. Let her cry and express every emotion she has, you dont have to fix it, just listen, comfort her and be there for her.

Croc Collabs

Am I weird because I'm bummed I didn't get a pair? Even with alerts on, I still missed out. I also missed out on this pair too.
The fried chicken Jibbitz charms smell like fried chicken!

Married With Children 1990s Shirts

I have to be honest. I want all of them. They're each being sold for over $100. I mean damn, if I had expendable funds, I'd be buying!

Gruesome Twosome Now Threesome

Historic Wine Glasses at Renault

A lot of renovations, updates and repairs happening on property. Wanted to take a picture before any changes were done.

Work related

This was interesting. This water well runs three major areas on the property. There was a leak and no plumber was around to fix it.
I offered my services as an irrigation worker. Its seems like this has been a problem for awhilel. You can see that a hole has rotted in the steel. It had a temp fix that lasted over 10 years on it, so when it was exposed it just deteriorated.
I figured I would just replace everything.
It works like a charm and there are no more leak.

Truckperchaun

I see this truck in Philadelphia a lot. I have to admit this is some real dedication. I have to wonder though, is it his love for leprechauns in general or the movie starring Warwick Davis?

I tried to create a Meme

Thoughts?

Utz Chip Trip

Highly suggest taking this tour. It was a lot of fun and it was cool to see the process of the chips being made, to being flavored and bagged to being shipped out to stores. We talked to the woman at the front desk and found out she was the person who tweaked the recipe for the Honey Wheat Pretzel Twists. She said the owner came to her with the recipe and told her to make it happen. She talked about how the process went, how it was hard to get it just right and how one time she added too much honey and it made a mess in her kitchen. I think its pretty amazing how she was just so nonchalant about it. If I didnt ask her so many questions and tell her how much I love those pretzels, she might have never revealed herself. Its confusing to find parking at the plant.. but just keep looking, you'll find the only 3 parking spots.

Stackin Tuna With No Cares

Saw this guy in the $.79 store. Asked if I could take a picture of the back of his jacket and he said it was ok. I thought it was kinda interesting.
meh

Artist Rendering Jay

Found these drawings in this old book my nephew drew in when he was young. We would give each other prompts to draw weird things. I told him to give me a prompt and I would draw what ever he said. I guess this one was Skeletons VS Humans in Basketball.
This one was so weird I actually wrote down what his prompt was. "Draw a dog trying to lick a snakes mouth"
I think I nailed it.

Berlin Finds

Yes, this rules so I bought it. I think it was $5. I gave the guy $3 and he seemed pissed but reluctantly let me have it
did not buy this but was very interested to see how it would work plugged in at home.
I hate when people say things like this. There is no way around it, Kevin looks high.
did not buy.
I love me some spuds. Its rare to find posters like this at Berlin. The guy wanted $30 but I offered him $25. I told him I would come back. I had $40 on me and was trying to haggle with him. I knew it would be gone if I walked around so I turned and went right back. I said "fine $30" and handed him the $40. He got all sassy and said " You had the money the whole time and you were trying to get it for less". I said " Yes of course, Im playing the game, you held your ground and won, I lost, now give me my change"
Very happy with this.

Pickle Truck

Hallin' dem gherkins!
