Sharon Van Etten - Are We There [ Preorder Vinyl ] Jagjaguwar

The album is so warm and welcoming. First song, personally, is the best song on the entire album. But the entire album is really boss. I love the over all mastering of the album, its perfect. I enjoy her "Home Recordings" album and the "Tramp - Demos" album. I like that raw grimy sound and feeling. This is more of a mature album and I really like it. I've been listening to it on repeat since it came in Tuesday (currently listening while writing this). This came in the preorder:
poster
autographed picture
7inch CD Vinyl
Letter explaining why she made this album and where she was personally when she made it.  I think this is one of the coolest and best parts of the entire package, the personal attachment and bringing the fans into that world. Happy I could support.

Gifts I got that blew my mind

Voice recorder from Cooper, awesome gift, for recording songs or ideas. USB built in, seriously rules.
I never saw the movie Fat Camp before, but it was on TV and I caught about 10 mins of it. The one kid is on the phone and hes wearing a Fire Marshall Bill shirt. I was telling Spencer about it, how the shirt was so ridiculus and he fucking got me a Fire Marshall Bill Shirt. Awesome gift
Thank you to Shannon Dorsey for the Madballs bat, I cant find any information about it anywhere. Seriously blew my mind, really righteous gift.
This is amazing. This is the entire Brainscan Press Kit. It talks about the soundtrack, what songs are going to be the single, the actors and the synopsis of the entire movie. Thank you Spencer
Hands down an amazing gift. This gift was really from her heart and I feel so bad for getting her a joke gift... thank you so much Colleen you are awesome...

2 CDs one ruled, one kinda sucked :IMO:

First I'll talk about the one that kinda sucked:

Danielle Ate The Sandwich
5.5 out of 10
---------------

Looks have nothing to do with this release, but this girl is attractive and shes kinda funny. Thats the only reason why this album got such a high rating. But things like that kind of piss me off, I cant get into her music at all. I really want to. Shes trying to be folky silly and catchy, but its not enjoyable. She has an amazing voice, and the guitar playing is kinda good, but she needs someone to ghost write her lyrics and let her know that there are other ways of singing songs. Every song has the same feel, her lyrics remind me a lot of Soko. To many little details being the focus of the song, trying to see the beauty in the little things, blah blah blah dumb. There are no memorable hooks, or catchy numbers that stick out in my head. I suggest to NOT buy it, but I do suggest to check her myspace and listen to her songs. One thing you have to do is watch her youtube videos, (they rule) shes very entertaining to watch, but her CD, not so much

Again this girl is attractive and very talented. But that plays no part in my rating for this CD. From start to finish I enjoyed this cd. Slow, acoustic, folk, indie music. I found myself listening to the music, and enjoying some songs that were longer then 5 minutes. Usually I would hate when an artist would do that, but I didnt notice any of her songs dragging, or boring. You lose yourself in her music, and its easy to get into and enjoy. Reminds me alittle of Tiny Vipers, but nothing as depressing as a Jesy Fortino song. This release has good guitar playing with an awesome voice to compliment each track and is worth the money. Check out her myspace to buy the CD.
